The UN convention on Biological Diversity Conference (COP15) in Montreal, Canada has concluded, with almost all participating nations agreeing to a set of 23 environmental targets, including a commitment to protecting 30% of the world’s landmass and oceans by 2030. The agreement also recognizes the important role of indigenous peoples and traditional land management in the process of conservation, along with the importance of addressing human-wildlife interaction.
